Pascuales Skit and Tamil!

October 1, 2018

Well this week was discouraging, until Sunday!

We have been praying and fasting for someone named María Teresa. She has been absorbing the gospel super well. She has tons of questions and she always is encouraged to do the right thing. She has been to church once already but could have gone more but we messed up twice about getting a ride for her to church. But she isn’t resentful. The assistants put forth the goal to the zone to have baptisms at the end of the week. So, we proposed to continue with the baptismal date with María Teresa for October 29th. And she said, “Oh, I forgot there is my cousin’s wedding. I have to go to in Quito.” So she had the decision, to be baptized or to go on the trip. So we asked her to pray. We called the day before she was supposed to go and she said she would go to the wedding. So in a couple weeks, if all goes well, I know she’ll be happy and willing to get baptized. She got back from her trip nice and safe so we shall hear how it went over there. We also have some members talking with her and fellowshipping her too.

We printed out the text from the pamphlet of The Restoration in a language called “Tamil” a language of a district in India for one of the guys that is listening to us from the house of 6 Hindúes (Hindus??) Gustavo and his family went to church and in Gospel Principles learned about how families can be together forever! Literally the topics are inspired. The Suarez Family also went to church so that was super cool they had a spiritual time in fast Sunday with all the testimonies.

In Pascuales, we went with Hermano Herrera and he knows practically everyone in Pascuales. So he showed us to some people and now they are investigadores! Also in Pascuales we got to do a skit how we were preparing as a missionary but I didn’t use my arms. Instead, Elder Wilson used his hands. I’ll show a video clip at a later date. Super funny

So we also got to visit many of the recent converts to see how they are doing and one family wasn’t doing to well as far as health. Literally everyone had something different as an affliction. :X  So we dropped by to give the a priesthood blessing. They are getting much better.

Have a good week everyone and one of my favorite scriptures for the week is 1 Samuel 15:22

22 And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

So instead of saying, I’ll sacrifice my scripture reading time for doing homework, keep in mind that to obey is better than sacrifice although both are good.

Atentamente,

Elder Wilhelm
