Dos interchanges

Sorry for my Spanglish

Hello everybody,

This week was also really loca. So it started off with a family home evening with some new members. We thought it was just the missionaries (us) and them. BUT they said the president of the Relief Society was coming. And she arrived with the crew! So we had a fantastic family home evening with less actives and new members!

This week we have been working hard to help the investigadores decide their baptismal dates! So now by visiting them we are helping them along!

We did two companionship exchanges this week and but before tell you about that, I would like to share an experience that we had because of them.

When I was in a different sector, doing the exchange, Elder Thatcher and Elder McAninch visited an investigator. But he got there late. And they brought member with them. When he, the investigator got there, the member, Brother Alcivar, started to teach him that we shouldn’t work on Sunday, but almost to the point of scolding him. He continued to say we will fast to help you follow that commandment. He felt really uncomfortable. The next day, we came back, after fasting. We found that he had found a way to change his work schedule so he could be able to attend church in the morning, when we attend, rather than in the afternoon, when the other ward attends. We came with a message about sacrifice. He, at this point understands that when we sacrifice something in our lives to obey God, the Lord will give us our reward 100 times more valuable than what we sacrificed.

Okay the exchanges:

Samborondón pueblo with Elder Hernández. It is a small town outside the city that’s really humble, we talked with some people that asked a ton of questions. In the night we did an interview with someone named Gina, she is in the picture below. Her testimony of Jesus is really big and although she gets really nervous when a bunch of people are around, after the baptism she felt really calm and clean. It was a beautiful experience. (I forgot bug spray that day and I got like 30 bug bites on my ankles) (next time I won’t forget)
