Hola, good morning/evening where ever you are!
How´s everyone been?
This week has been very very interesting. We got to move all of my stuff to Guayacanes after we dropped Elder Day off at the central stake building named the Kennedy (after John F. Kennedy (which I still don´t know why there is a main central street here named after a pres. of the United States)). Then I took a look at our apartment. And oh boy did we do some heavy cleaning. It has been more than half a week and we have still quite a bit to clean up. And! They might be moving us to a different apartment. Woot! We shall see. But I am really down for anything that it new at this point hehe. Ok enough about the apartment ;D
So in this Guayacanes Ward we have some differences. The youth help out the Missionaries here! Super cool! They are practically the people carrying out all of the missionary work here. There are however, a lot of less actives, we find them all the time on the street and hanging out in front of their houses. Super chill but we have many worries about people not coming to church.
That. That is basically our goal here. I don´t want to sound negative, but Guayacanes is a the point that Samanes was, 1 year ago. And it wasn’t that pretty. So I am super happy that we have work to do here that will make a difference here for a really long time.
The youth / los jovenes: that help us hehe
Hyrum, Super chill and is really awesome, he is leaving for the mission in 2 months I think. To a part of mexico that is really cold near Texas. (I forgot the name of the mission) But he is making plans and executing them here in the ward. Which is awesome!
Ismael, Also cool, he is going to be studying to be a teacher that teaches English. So I will be helping him as helps me learn more and more Spanish,
Gabriela, Wow she is almost crazy. Loves to talk and has a love for the gospel and sharing her testimony with others.
Gisel, We bring her along with Ismael and she too is awesome. Haven’t seen here too much. She is the daughter of the bishop here.
Los Investigadores,
Pedro: He is super awesome loves to pray. Our goal with him is to allow to him to want to read more of the Book of Mormon and do more things like go to church. And we also want to inspire him to resolve some of family issues he has around him.
Freddy: He is a little older than Pedro and he has a testimony, the thing is he just needs to show more faith by coming to church more constantly. He loves finding out more things about the Gospel. About baptism and repentance.
And really for the rest of the investigators, we haven´t had the chance to pass by their house when they are there yet. So we cross our fingers that we can find more people through the members this week.
The lunches. Los Almuerzos.
The Banchon Family; They served us CRAB. Crab from the sea. Whole crab. Shell, head/body/tail everything. If I have eaten crab like that before, I have forgotten, because that was a whole new experience for me. 😀 But crab like the is really really good but is time consuming to eat.
The Saldaña Family: Gisel is the daughter of the Family and they gave us Lasagna. Super good and Guanábana Juice (Soursop Juice or something) Super tasty because it tastes like no other fruit. It is about the size of a water melon.
The Chávez Family: Served us some really delicious food like salad and blackberry juice (people here loove blackberry juice)
My companion. Elder Varela,
This week I have been able to get to know him a little bit better than before. He is from Honduras and has gained some weight here in the mission. He once answered the phone. “Hi you´re talking with Elder Varela, the most angry elder in the missionary… Just kidding, that´s just what they say” Honestly, we have had zero problems, with Elder Varela. We get along. We both see we are trying our best. ;D Elder Varela loves to play the guitar, he has learned a lot of how to play here.
Well untill next week!
I love you all 😀
