3 Elders, 3 Wards, and the Office!
September 3, 2018
This week, my companion, Elder McAninch finished his mission. He served a good two years and was Zone leader for much of the time. He is super awesome. So I got to say goodbye to him early in the week; and also to many of my good companions like Elder Varela and Elder Day! Super fun experience but they are in different places now 😀 hehe.
Okay sweet!
This week I recovered from being a little under the weather, but thanks to my good inventory that my mother sent me with, I am good and healthy! So this week we have been walking around in a trio!
So we had a good start in the week a with Elder Wilson (the blond one from Colorado), and Elder Rentas (the one with the picture in the office, from Puerto Rico) and we have been running around everywhere trying teach people and get stuff done in the office.
This week I have learned so much because we are doing so much. How to be even more organized and how to be able to plan out situations that literally seem impossible but we somehow get it done. So I am pretty satisfied about our work this week. Although we weren’t able to visit too many people our good friends in la Joya are doing really well they are progressing towards baptism especially the Suarez Family.
On Sunday we went to 3 Sunday meetings and mission coordination. We are so very excited to be working in these three areas and we have received so many references from the members for this week to visit. A couple of them even texted us the references to we could write them down faster. So I am pretty thrilled!Â
A really cool experience I had on the bus earlier this week was that a really nice guy let us get in a taxi instead of him getting in. So the 50 cent taxi brought us to the buses and we got on. Then as we are heading along, I see that man who let us go first! I turn to Elder EchavarrÃa at the moment because he was my temporary companion because Elder McAninch left already, and I tell him, that is the hermano isn’t it? “Contact him” He replied. I responded, “But it would be hard because there is a mountain of people in between us (the buses are always packed in the morning and the evenings). So when a space opened up a little later, I got up towards the front of the bus with my Libro de Mormón, and I thanked him for letting us get in the taxi first, then, we struck up a conversation about his work and how is family is doing. I offered him something that is really specially to me and I would want him to read. The book of Mormon. He, with curiosity, accepted it and he told me when and where we could visit him. As soon as he finished writing his phone number, he had to get off to go to work. This experience is just one of many that happen in the mission. Seriously there are so many that I can’t write them all down. So whenever you are afraid of sharing the gospel or sharing a Book of Mormon with someone, just do it, but do it in a loving way because that is how Christ would do it.
Thanks for all the support and have a sweet week!
Atentamente,
