Ok this week I got to know my new companion a little more. The majority of our conversations are about how we can help our investigators and help our ward out. So Elder Day is a from a town in Utah called Kaysville. He went to Davis High which is a school known for it’s engineering. Every year they do Vex robotics. And Elder Day likes it just as I do! Although he wasn’t the programmer, he loves robots and they won at a world Vex Robotics Competition. Neat! A little background, over at my high school, we didn’t have a history in robotics, just supplies, so I helped pioneer the program and we got to compete in Vex and First Robotics! So that has been really cool to bond about. Elder Day is also really good at construction. So he is constantly looking around for things to fix up and improve around the house and where investigators live.
*Previously on 100 hours*:
Wake up at 5:30, leave to proselyte at 7:00am and return at 9:30pm and sleep at 10:30pm. We contacted 100 people, 5 live in our area and none were interested. Not much happened, just super duper tired.
*This episode of 100 hours*
We didn’t have much success in the mornings. BUT in evenings, in total through out the week we found 4 more people to teach!! WOOT!
There we were, walking down the main street between Samanes and Guayacanes. We looked to the side and “Hey! Misioneros!” A man from a different ward pulled us to the side and asked us how were were doing and if we wanted to buy a muffin (that´s his job) But he had to go but before he left he said to talk to this guy right here. And he ran off selling more muffins. Around the corner came a man 21 years old from Venezuela. He said to us “hey for the past six months I have been wanting to talk to you guys and I want to know more about what happens to us after we die.” So we talked for a bit, he is taking the discussions from the Witnesses of Jehovah and later we talked there were he sells Shawarma. Which is super tasty. How do I know?
A different day we dropped by to see him and a really hurried man shook our hands, bought some shawarma. Then Alex gave us some shawarma and we asked why? The man had bought some for us. With suprise, we asked hey are you a member? He said no, but he knows what we do. He scurried off in his car before we got a chance to thank him very much or find out what his name was. We thought, We really want to talk to that man!
Back to Alex, he has been reading the book of mormon and is progressing, but he says we will keep attending the church of the witnesses of jehova for now until later. We hope and pray that the spirit can enter his heart about the things he is learning
I am pretty much out of time, so here is a scrappy summary of what else happened in the week:
Family history activity – we worked hard but no one new came.
Multizone conference – There will be changes in the zone borders soon.
Family of Reina Mariuxi, Jessica etc. – Their faith is continuing to grow by reading more of the book of mormon!
Spanish – I am understanding everything now, completely – all the words I know, I recognize. I am still learning more and more words constantly,
