THIS WEEK WAS SUPER INTERESTING
List of things that have happened this week
After just one week in Vergeles and 11 months in the Orquideas stake, I got moved to the neighboring stake, Samborondón, and La Joya Ward.
From Vergeles, where some streets are dirt, to the “Scottsdale” part of town. All of the houses are in things called Cuidadelas, a gated community where we have to call someone that lives there to enter. It makes things a little harder but more exciting.
My previous companion, Elder Curtis was really dedicated, but had been dealing with anxiety the whole mission. He really inspired me while he was here. He has returned home now. He is from my group that arrived in Ecuador straight from the different MTC’s.
In Vergeles, I got to say goodbye to the Galindez Family. They said that it was “Chimbo” meaning they didn’t think that was cool. But ya they gave us Arepas and we got to catch up. Yessica has a calling and the mom, Reina, has two callings already! That ward is the best ward for them.
With Hermana Blanca, I wished her a happy birthday, and she got so surprised that she invited us over to eat some cake! We ended up going when we went for lunch the next day and she gave us some cake as we chatted with her a bunch.
This week in La Joya, has been suuuuuper interesting…
I became District Leader, the only one in the zone, so I am Zone District Leader of 5 companionships basically. So that is a lot on my plate but I am up for the challenge. The attitude of the people here is different. I will explain more next week!
