Surprise Talk At Church
May 14, 2018
¡Hola! Hermanos y Hermanas,
This week was super. 😀 This week the bishop told me, hey could you prepare to give a talk this Sunday, I don´t know if you will be able to give it but ya, an open topic.
For my previous three talks in Spanish, I planned the talks but I never finalized them until the morning of. This time, I took to some time to pull quotes and stories into the talk.
Here are some of the main points of the talk I gave!
1. Ministering is showing love
Ministering is showing love, why? Because who was Jesus Christ. He is pure love. We can show our love for people by doing service, by listening, knowing all the names of the family, the birthdays, their favorite colors, what their needs are. Not just any ordinary needs. Spiritual needs are just as important as physical needs.
2. How to do ministering through being a friend
How many people need someone to relate to. To tell them their problems, their concerns. What they yearn for. Be that person. Be the people that are found in Mosiah 18:3
3. How to fulfil with the commitment that Elder Ballard gave to Ecuador and Colombia
Elder Ballard left a commitment that everyone must contact one friend before June 1st. What are the blessings promised? By completing this commitment, he said, we will be giving to the Lord the best gift we can give and we can drink from the spring of living water to enjoy blessing for eternity.
END of talk
Our efforts this week are in trying to find new investigators.
We had a Mother’s Day activity and 5 investigators came! Super fun and loud with dancing and food. Although we were almost 1h 30m late, they had a really good time.
During the activity I left on a split to go to the baptism in Samanes. One of the investigators I was teaching got baptized!!
As a Zone today, we ventured to the midst of a jungle area to play UNO and eat sandwiches at the top of a tower. A fun activity!
Thanks for reading this week and I shall check in next week!
Atentamente,
Elder Wilhelm
