The Orchid Garden!

March 5, 2018

This week was a little interesting because our lessons kept landing right in the middle of our studies. So we were a little unedified in some of our efforts. But there were some awesome things that happened this week!

We did some service by painting the house of one of our investigators. We brought along someone named Luiggi and he made us all laugh really hard. It is weird, people say he has an Italian accent, but the difference for me right now is I just straight up don´t understand some of the phrases he says because he says them differently. But ya our goal is to be able to fellowship the mom of Nathaly, who we are currently teaching and wants to get baptized 24 de marzo!

Mariuxi and Abraham are working diligently to get the papers to finalize preparation for their marriage. It looks like in April they it will be possible. But both Mariuxi and Jessica stopped drinking coffee! A headache for a day and a half and boom, and it is now cheaper too, to live without it.

Well today we headed to the Zone Activity thinking we were going to do some service or something but we actually headed for a hike through Guayaquil´s Botanical Garden! Super Awesome! Supposedly there are Orchids everywhere, but I think they are only there for a part of the year, but it was really pretty and the were a billion mosquitoes, so, luckily, at the entrance, they doused us with mucho bug repellent! There were monkeys, parrots that said “¡Qué rico! ¡Hola!” Some of the elders would imitate the parrots and sound almost exactly like them. An awesome, memorable experience to go there!

Upcoming news, 18-25 of March is 100 hours of work in a week again. Week of Sacrifice. So you´ll be able to hear from me the next week, and again in that week if President allows. So ya, super worried about that because as of right now, we don´t have many people to teach. But those we are teaching are progressing a ton. So we are working really hard with the members to find more people with which to share our message.

Other upcoming news, next week a couple missionaries in our zone are finishing their time here in the mission. T´wil be sad to see them go but that means that there are transfers this next week. I don´t know what will happen, especially after Elder Tafur spoke with President about how much time he has had here. 9 months, at the end of our transfer. And I 6 months. Usually it is 3 or 4.5 months in each area. Although many missionaries around don´t realize this, Our mission president is called of God, I know that the revelations that he gets about our transfers are revealed in the temple. He goes there to receive that revelation.

Super good week, but I have hope that there will be better ones! As always!
Have a good week everyone and look up!
