The Bautismo of LUIS!
June 3, 2019
We are all really happy and full of joy because Luis chose to be baptized!
So we have been visiting him and he has been really awesome because he calls us before hand if he needs to reschedule an appointment and he always says something along the lines of: Can we visit at 8 tonight, tell me that we can, please, por favor! He is very persistent. So he has made a lot of friends here in the ward which is super cool and many of them are leaders in the ward. His baptism was really awesome! He got there in the sweet suit (as seen in the picture) and we got dressed in white pretty quick and it was such a spiritual experience. Luis in his testimony described from his perspective how he had been receiving the lessons and there were a lot of details that we had no clue about. One of them was that he got home one time and he was so happy about learning the plan of salvation that he just began to cry because he was so happy. I know that as a missionary I don’t and won’t be able to realize the full impact that we have when we share this gospel. We can only see a glimpse and wow it is truly glorious.

I would love to talk about Luis for the whole letter but I don’t want to leave out the visit from Elder Bednar to our mission. So as I mentioned before, my companion was chosen to be the pianist for the conference for Elder Bednar. And it was an inspiring opportunity for him and for all of us because Elder Bednar is so powerful. He didn’t come to give a talk to us. So instead he asked us questions, had us ask him questions and share the things we learned through reading some assigned talks and what the spirit said to us. And he taught many things through those methods. The main idea was that we need to treat people like agents and not like objects. And that we should really learn by the spirit. I love his use of Spanglish. It cracks us all up 😀

They changed the districts up on me. Now I am in charge of the 4 companionships that are in the Orquideas and Vergeles Wards. And guess what… Remember Reina and Yessica? They live there in Vergeles! So I am really excited to go and visit them. But guess what even more? Looks like Mariuxi is going to get baptized soon. Reina is the mom, Yessica is the daughter and Mariuixi is the other daughter! I can’t express how excited I am. But I am sad a bit because I am going to miss the old district of Guayacanes, Condor, Metropolis and Albonor!
Pictures will come soon because I will do an intercambio. Thanks for reading. Have a good one!
