Luis and Elder Bednar!

May 20, 2019

I always have so much to say but I never know in what order to say it!

First off, Luis: So a lot of stuff has been happening in his life so he actually started a fast. BUT apparently we didn’t explain it super well (we gave a brief explanation) because he started it at 12 at night and was going to end it 24 hours later. That is rough but now that he read the pamphlet he has understood it better. Earlier on, we were talking, us, him, and the bishop, about baptism and temples and he wants to go with the ward, but he was going to get baptized too late, so his baptismal date is now June 1st  instead of June 15th. His life is like the story in Mosiah 18, he is so excited to get baptized.

Walter: Last year when I was here in Samanes, I talked to a guy named Walter who knew a TON about the Bible and we talked for a long time about the Book of Mormon and the Bible. And guess what, we found him again and he thought it was so awesome to talk about it to go back and forth, because I think there are not many who are quite as passionate as we are about the scriptures. Anyway so it was cool to talk to him again.

Bednar: So like the title says, Elder Bednar, He is coming to our mission. There are many conferences that he is going to give, and all the missionaries in the 3 Guayaquil missions are going to be in the conference for missionaries. It is going to be awesome! Also, side note, not bragging, sort of, but my companion, Elder Brinkman is going to play the piano. My question is, where am I going to sit?
We found out all of this in our mission multizone conference. When that happened all the elders from my group, that got here on the same day to the mission, minus Elder Gonzaga, were in the conference! I shall send the photo next week!

Lassos: The Familia Lasso has been really receptive, they want to get baptized but are iffy about going to church, so we have a specified date for them to go to church also we are going to go with the members that they already know!

Home: So it is concrete, I am going home on July 30th. My visa here in Ecuador expires on the August 2nd so I can’t go home later than that. We shall see what the future holds. President wants me to help the secretary with Excel a bit so he can organize and see when missionaries go home and when their visas expire.

It has been a great week, until next time!

Zone Conference
A cool view
Another cool view, but if you look really close, you can see the temple from Francisco’s house
